Snowy Sunday
December 16, 2007 // No Comments
It’s still snowing out there… started about 7:00 last night and is expected to keep snowing ’til Monday morning. I shoveled, but you can’t tell. Especially not after the plow goes by. Going to have to dig out if we’re going to get out of the house today. There’s a thin layer of ice on the car (less than 1/4″) which will have to be chipped off first.
I’m watching the Bills / Browns game now - it’s just as bad there as it is here. Always funny when you can’t even see the yardlines on the field.
I finally got the house phones working again after switching to Vonage last week. So now I’m running both my business voice, business fax and home voice lines all through Vonage over one Time Warner cable connection. So far, so good. Luckily all the house phones are wireless, so we just had to move the base to a hardwired connection, and all the other phones work.
Well, time to go shovel again. It’s a battle I just can’t win.

Turkey Day!
November 22, 2007 // 1 Comment
Well, I’m out running in the snow right now… Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
As usual, I’m running in the Turkey Trot this year. Afterwards, I actually get a break as we’re not hosting Thanksgiving today, so I can relax a bit before heading over to my in-laws for some Thanksgiving dinner. After dinner, I hear we’ll be watching Ratatouille to keep the kids amused.
I have no intention on going out for any Black Friday deals tomorrow. I did it once (got my Furby for $30 and sold on eBay for about $180) and that was enough for me. Waking at 2:30 in the morning, just to go wait in line at 3AM isn’t my idea of fun. Especially not the day after a holiday.
I’ll be working Friday, but Friday night the lights turn on! I’m excited to see what they look like this year (I haven’t seen them in action yet - only Laura has, as I was at the controls) but a bit nervous that something will go wrong, especially since we have people coming over. Using my Kill-A-Watt I was able to measure the amps used on each channel, so I won’t blow a fuse, but there are some older lights in the system which may cause problems. Oh, and I can’t forget to put out my sign from YourOneStop.com - they did an amazing job!

My eBay Auctions
November 19, 2007 // 1 Comment
I’ve listed a few things on eBay and to help promote them, I’ve listed them on the right side of my website. So if I have auctions up on eBay, they’ll be listed over there & directly linked to them.
Happy bidding!

Going to Bug Me All Day
October 18, 2007 // 1 Comment
This is going to bug me all day… at my desk, I have a very good view of the neighborhood & especially the street corner. The public schools have a 1/2 day today, and I just saw a mother pick up her daughter, they got in the car, and the daughter clearly didn’t have her seatbelt on as they drove away (she was hanging out the window). Should I have called the police?
In Kenmore, the police could get there in time. Actually, in Kenmore, they could get to me between the start & end of a sneeze. Is it my business? Do the police want to be bothered with this?
On the other hand, what if that car just got in an accident, and the kids flew threw the windshield? Should I feel responsible?
I saw this happen before, while I was out running. I was going to stand in front of the car as I called the police, but the fear of the angry mother running me over with her car kept me jogging along. I still think about that day.
Since that day, which happened months ago, still bothers me, this is the last time I’m looking the other way. The Kenmore police are getting a call next time. Hopefully that’ll make a difference.

Unsolicited Phone Call Re: Do Not Call List
September 24, 2007 // No Comments
I got the dumbest unsolicited phone call this evening from DirecTV because I’m on their Do Not Call list. Does that make any sense? Doesn’t that completely defeat the purpose of me being on their Do Not Call list?

Today be National Talk Like a Pirate Day. I’m not good at talking like a pirate, but whenever we go to Walt Disney World, I like to tell the poor pirate standing at the gates of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride a bad pirate joke. Sorry, bud.
