Sewer Problems
Tuesday August 7, 2007 // Share on Facebook
Remember the Colonoscopy my house went through last week? Well, today was surgery day. There were some complications, as expected, but in the end (hahaha! get it? colonoscopy? “in the end”?
) everything turned out OK.
Here are some photos, from the gallery:
Still have to fill the holes, but the sewer lines are functional, yet again.

I do hope you chose to go with Union Plumbers. If its not union made, its CRAP! I’m s’posed to be all pro-union now that I’m in one. What happened? They have to replace that elbow? What did it run you? (Am wondering if it would have been cheaper to fly me out instead :p).
As a side note, how the heck do I stop spammers from trying to post stuff on my blog? I had 2800 messages to moderate the other day, only 5 were valid (my sister forgets to login so I don’t have to moderate). I’m hoping you can shed some light on this.

Unions? No comment.
The PVC downline didn’t line up with the clay, and there was a leak by the sump pump, too. So, dig 2 holes, replace clay w/ PVC, fill it up, cement ontop. Including the colonoscopy, it was just under $2k. While watching, he wasn’t doing anything I couldn’t do, but he did I lot I didn’t want to do.
Why do you care about your blog spam? You haven’t posted in 3 months, anyways. If you plan on writing again, active Akismet (sounds like you have already) and get Peter’s Custom Anti-Spam and (here’s the key) - edit the PHP file and change the words in the captcha.

This weekend I’ll probably post an ad on craigslist offering to change out water heaters for $600 bucks. Like I said, my union loyalties go only so far right now.
That’s not a bad price I suppose, especially since you didn’t really have the stomach for it
I care about spam on my blog because it sends 150 messages a day to my inbox. And I blog in spurts. What can I use to edit the php file? Wordpad? My opensource version of Excel? Plumber, not programmer, remember?

$600 to clean a water heater? Can’t you get a new one, installed, at that price?
Use notepad to edit the PHP file. Wordpad may screw with the formatting.
So when’s your next “spurt” of blogging going to come along?

I said “change out”, meaning install a new one and haul the old one off.
And the professional plumbing places out here are charging in the area of $800.
Hmm, I used Wordpad last night before I got this, it seems to have worked. How will I know if the formatting is screwy?
Who knows, could be today, could be in a week. Have plenty to write about but little time to hang out in front of my laptop.
Google has some hiring going on here, I told Charlie, figured I’d let you know in case you felt the siren call of the Sonoran Desert….you hear it? Its better out here
