New Year

31st Aug 2007Family

Anyone with school-age children realizes the new year starts next week, when school is back in session. This year, Rebecca starts Pre-K (full day) and Jason goes into 3rd grade.

This past Thursday, Rebecca went in to meet her teachers and see her new classrooms. She has 2 teachers (and 2 assistants) and 2 classes because she’s in full-day pre-K. So for 1/2 the day, she’s in the Ken-Ton program, then she goes to lunch, outside to play, nap time, then onto the St. Paul’s program for the afternoon. She met another little girl who’s doing the same thing, so hopefully they’ll become friends.

Speaking of Rebecca making friends, it only took until the end of the summer, but she’s finally playing with the little girl across the street. We’ve offered to take her over there before, but it was always only if we’d stay with her. Today, they were riding their scooters, running back and forth, and even washed the neighbor’s car (I told Laura to drive mine over, and have them do ours next!). Becca’s friend is 2-years older than her, but they’re the same size (Becca is huge!)

So starting next week, it’ll just be Morgan, Laura and myself at home during the day. Thankfully, the house should be a little calmer, and I’ll be able to focus on working a bit more. It’s rather crazy here during the summer, when the three kids are all running around screaming their heads off!
