Xbox 360 Grayscale / No Color Problem
Lately, we’ve been playing the Xbox in black & white, because we lost the color for some reason.
- It’s not the TV, because we have color w/ DirecTV and DVDs
- It’s not the home theatre receiver, because I tried plugging it directly into the TV and had the same problem
- It’s not the cable, because Steve’s cable gave me the same problem
Finally, I contacted support, and got the usual answers (make sure the cable is plugged in). So I called them, and the lady I spoke to asked me to try another TV. I was sure that wasn’t it, but she asked nicely, so I did… and it was fine on the other TV.
Why my TV can show color from DVDs and DirecTV, but not an XBox is beyond me. Well, time to buy a new TV

I have had this same exact problem for awhile now….did you ever figure out what to do in order to fix the problem??
Try plugging the XBox into a different TV, directly.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what was causing my problem, but now that my XBox is plugged directly into another TV, it’s working fine.
First, eliminate everything else that could be interfering (like home theatres), and if that doesn’t work, switch the TV.
If that doesn’t work, call XBox support – they’re actually really helpful, and you get to talk to a PERSON!
