Taking the CFL Challenge
Australia is taking steps to eliminate incandescent light bulbs from their country, switching to CFLs and other energy efficient bulbs. I’ve been replacing bulbs here & there, but haven’t made an official resolution to change all of them. However, inspired by those down under:
Any light bulb requiring replacing in my household will be a CFL or LED from hereon out (with 2 exceptions: the Easy Bake Oven and Jason’s Bug Maker, which require the heat from a traditional bulb).
It just makes sense: a $3 device that will keep a half-ton of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere during the course of its life — while saving you at least $30. And that statement is about CFL’s… LED lights are even more efficient, albeit not as brite.
