Holiday Shopping with Amazon.com

4th Dec 2006Christmas, Technology

Each year, I spend 1/2 a day doing all of my Christmas shopping, most of which is done at Amazon.com. In fact, I do about 60% of my shopping at Amazon, 15% at Overstock.com, and the other 25% at specialty stores. Why so much at Amazon? Their prices are good (maybe not the best), and I can get a lot there on just one “trip”.

However, looking at my most recent order, there’s a funny line… a certain product will not be here in time for Christmas. See, it was shipped from Harrisburg, PA on December 1, arrived in Buffalo just 1/2 hour ago, but is not expected to be delivered until January 12th. Seems odd… I’m sure I’ll get it tomorrow, but you’d think they could figure out that if the product is 15 miles away from my house, that it’ll be here tomorrow.

On the other hand, I do have a product which looks like it may not make it here for Christmas – good thing 4 of my family’s 5 birthdays are in January!
