Turkey Day & Turkey Trot
Friday November 24, 2006 // Share on Facebook
Yesterday was Thanksgiving… which means the Turkey Trot! I didn’t think I’d do so well, because I haven’t been running as much as I’d like to have been, but I did very well – finished the 8 km (4.98 mi) in 41:35, or an average pace of 8:21. That made me 1,429th out of 7,583 timed runners (there was over 8,300 registered), or 92nd in the Male 25-29 age group. Tom finished 1,164th, 1:37 before me. Other people I knew that ran:
- Steve, 48:03
- Shipwreck, 40:02
- Dave, 54:41
- Rob, 53:34
- Mark, 55:48 & Matt, 55:44
This is the course… rolling until North St., then downhill towards the finish.

My split times were: 8:14, 8:14, 8:35, 8:15, 8:15. Including warm-up & cool-down, I burned 957 calories, and ran a total of 7.14 miles.
Then, we ate dinner, turned on the Christmas lights & had dessert. I’ll post more about the Christmas lights soon.
