Getting faster
I’ve been running sprints 2-3 times / week now, and lifting weights 3 times / week, and watching what I eat, but the true test if I’m getting faster or not is a set-distance run, like a 5K. Well yesterday I went out at 6 AM with Scout and ran 5K in a personal-best 24:25, which is a 7:50 / mile pace. My previous best was 8:05 / mile on July 26th. So I am getting faster.

My next “race” will be the Glen Iris 5K in September, so I have a little more time before that run to get my time lower. Oh, and I’m down about 10 lbs. since I started to train hard in early June, so that’s about 5 lbs. / month.
