In other news…
Yeah, I’ve been working – a lot. But that’s OK – I’m enjoying it. Especially the sounds of the kids screaming in the background. Jason was off this past week, so my routine was off. I didn’t make it to the gym too often, and feel bad about that. I need to get motivated to get back there every day.
Some motivation should’ve come from the 5K that I ran last week… I set my watch to race me at a 8:30 pace and I took an early lead – about 300 yards – before I fell apart and my “virtual running partner” passed me. I finished with 8:37 mile times, finishing 69 out of 104 runners. It was very, very cold (about 10 degrees) and pretty windy.
I need to get away from these dark, cold days and this week I’ll get the chance. On Wednesday, I fly to Austin (via NY), hit up 3 meetings with Steve (in the over-80-degree temperatures), then drive up to Dallas. After crashing in Dallas, we’ve got another meeting on Thursday, then I fly home (via Chicago). Even though I’m on the run, the weather should be warm & sunny, which I really need right now.
Oh yeah, this non-stop, 2-day trip follows our annual Mardi Gras party Tuesday night. FAT TUESDAY! I can’t wait for the King Cake to arrive… the only problem is that it comes on Monday, and I can’t have any of it until Tuesday night!
OK… I think it’s time to go to sleep.
Whoa, Troop 37?? I was in Troop 35! I think they go in order of being founded.
