Turkey Day
Well, Thanksgiving Day is over, although the food isn’t gone yet. I started the day w/ Tom, Ray and Ray’s brother-in-law, Jeff, running in the 110th Turkey Trot. Here are mine & Tom’s results:
Tom finished in 2,421st place in 45:39, 9:11 miles
I finished in 2,424th place in 45:40, 9:11 miles
We started pretty far back in the pack, and had a lot of people to pass. That slowed us down a bit, but the last 2 miles we kept up a real good pace. Next year we’ll have to start closer to the front of the pack.
So we ran 1.1 miles to the starting line, then ran the 4.97 mile race, then ran 1.2 miles from the bus dropoff back home. After losing 2 of the 4 of us, we all managed to make it home to enjoy a BIG dinner.
Laura made squash soup, which I enjoyed, along with all the regulars. We had 10 pies, and I think we have 5 leftover. I also discovered that I need a new coffee maker, and a new coffee scoop, as my coffee maker is crappy, and my scoop is too big. Good thing Mark brought with him a box of Dunkin Doughuts coffee so I got at least 1 good cup.
Last night we got a pretty big snowfall… somewhere between 4 and 8 inches… looks like 4-5 to me, but the measuring stick out front measures 8″ – I’ll have to check that when this round melts, as it’s supposed to hit 60 on Monday.
